The approach to designing footwear is underpinned by years designing product and furniture mainly at the London consultancy Hollington Associates. There we designed furniture for Herman Miller to SCP, the retailer producer who gave most of the big British based furniture designers a platform outlet. The metal stacking chair is part of the Design Museums collection. The various materials and processes used to design for clients meant a wide experience in understanding manufacturing factors. We designed pens for Parker and Gillet meaning we developed the detail ability to see when a half millimetre made all the difference.
Also shown is revising a classic for Lloyd Loom of Spalding, early days internet phone listed in 20th Century Design book, and One at a Time lifestyle veg tan leather goods made in Tuscany while at Nadia Minkoff.
